Transportation

A number of our international students have obtained their own Canadian drivers licence and purchased a car. If you wish to pursue this as an option, refer to Ontario's website to obtain your Drivers Licence. Many of our students also carpool together and this is often arranged on your own after settling in. The school is located within a 20 minute cycle ride of the accommodation provided to international students. It is less than 5 minutes by drive.

Health Insurance

You will be required to obtain health insurance as an international student before you arrive in Canada. You will need to attest to having it set up prior to commencement of your program. International students can send an email to Canadian Flyers staff that will assist them in obtaining health insurance for their time while being a student in Canada.

Visas / Study Permit

We highly reccomend that you use a Visa Consultant to apply for your Study Permit as they are experienced professionals that for a fee, complete and submit your visa application. In our experience the probability of being issued a Study Permit is higher if an experienced Visa Consultant applies on your behalf. To obtain a study permit for international students wishing to join Canadian Flyers in Ontario, follow these steps: 1. Acceptance from Canadian Flyers: Receive an acceptance letter from Canadian Flyers confirming your enrollment in their flight training program. This letter aka an LOA (Letter of Acceptance) is essential for your study permit application. 2. Apply Online: Access the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website and complete the online application for a study permit. Ensure you have digital copies of all required documents. Create an online account with MyCIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) 3. Prepare Necessary Documents by Gathering the following documents: - Passport - Letter of acceptance from Canadian Flyers - Proof of financial support - Medical examination records - Proof of payment for the processing fee 4. Language Proficiency: If applicable, provide proof of English or French language proficiency through standardized tests like IELTS or TOEFL. 5. Pay Application Fee: Pay the required study permit application fee through the online system. Keep the receipt for future reference. 6. Submit Application: Upload all required documents to the MyCIC portal and submit your study permit application. Double-check for accuracy and completeness. 7. Biometrics Appointment (if required): If biometrics are necessary, schedule an appointment at the nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC) to provide fingerprints and a photo. 8. Wait for Processing: Study permit processing times vary, so be patient. Use the MyCIC account to track the status of your application. 9. Receive Approval: Once approved, you will receive a Letter of Introduction. This letter is required when you arrive in Canada and will be used to obtain your study permit at the port of entry. 10. Arrival in Canada: Upon arrival, present your Letter of Introduction, passport, and other relevant documents at the port of entry to obtain your study permit. 11. Compliance with Regulations: Ensure you comply with all study permit regulations, including maintaining full-time student status and informing authorities of any changes in your circumstances. Always refer to the latest guidelines on the IRCC website and consult with the Canadian Flyers admissions team if assistance is requied.
